Indian Sandstone Paving Slabs

Indian Sandstone

Indian sandstone paving slabs have a reputation for offering a huge range of unique colours and finishes while maintaining a versatile strength that makes these slabs ideal for pathways and patios. This has led to the paving being incredibly popular in the UK and the rest of the world.

Indian Sandstone Paving

These sandstone options are made from (as the name suggests) sandstone which has been quarried from select regions all around the beautiful country of India and the paving options reflect this fact. The natural composition of the quartz grains and natural cementation has led to Indian sandstone receiving great strength, durability and resistances which is ideal for walkways and garden patios. You will also find a naturally occurring riven surface which creates an authentic feel, along with the huge array of varying colours.

Is Indian sandstone good?

As Indian sandstone is produced in nature, it automatically has some resistance to adverse weather conditions such as rain, heavy winds and snow. This alone makes this sandstone a fantastic choice but if you couple that with the variations available which cater to both modern and traditional styles, Indian sandstone is one of the best paving choices you can make.

Are Indian sandstone slabs slippy when wet?

While this natural paving isn’t non-porous (does not absorb water), it isn’t actually slippy. This is due to the miniscule grainy texture of the sandstone which provides grip support. However, if the paving is left for increasingly long periods of time without any maintenance, then it may eventually begin to become slippy so it is advised to give your paving slabs a clean every few weeks.

Paving Options

Due to the beautiful location of where this natural stone is sourced, there is a huge selection of textures and colours to choose from such as the ever popular Raj green options. With a stunning blend of creams, greys, browns and greens, this paving choice is a British staple for driveways and patios. Following the traditional Raj green, our Rainbow sandstone has an incredible array of clashing colours, highlighted by intense swirls and veins of purples, oranges and browns which delivered an incredible finish.

If a more modern look is better suited for your patio, then this natural sandstone from India has options for you too. The sawn grey option has a wonderful mix of grey shades that compliments each other from slab to slab, creating a look that is both modern and stylish. You will also find the simple but beautiful silver grey sandstone options a fantastic choice for up and coming modern patios. While this paving has clashing shades of grey’s it also has slight tones of yellows and browns which further enhances the simplistic feel of the slab.
